In recent years, I have made several long visits to the National Palace Museum located in the suburbs. Many local and foreign tourists visit it every day to take pictures and spend countless hours inside. However, photography is strictly prohibited within the museum, but you can buy colored slides of the exhibits in the gift shop downstairs.
The National Palace Museum boasts a vast collection of beautiful jade artifacts. There's also an ancient bronze vessel exhibit, which is especially impressive. Some of the exhibits change frequently due to special collections such as porcelain and silk paintings.
My attention was primarily drawn to the room with the wall-size slide show describing some archaeological discoveries from prehistory times. Additionally, the oracle bones' exhibit was also quite fascinating. The display of the many rare, beautiful, interesting, and fascinating objects was like nothing else I had ever seen before.
The Forbidden City is a vast complex that dates back over 600 years. It features numerous palaces, gardens, courtyards, and temples. Despite its size, it's easy to navigate, and each area has its own unique character.
One of the most striking features of the Forbidden City is its architecture. Its blend of traditional Chinese design elements with modern architectural innovations creates a unique and harmonious layout. I particularly admired the ornate palace halls and pavilions, which were adorned with intricate carvings and murals.
In addition to its impressive architecture, the Forbidden City also offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The city sits atop a hill overlooking the entire landscape, providing a panoramic view of the Forbidden City and beyond.
Overall, my trip to the Forbidden City was unforgettable. Its rich history, stunning architecture, and diverse cultural offerings make it one of the most memorable visits I've made. If you're interested in Chinese culture or history, I highly recommend visiting this amazing destination.
